The automated outdoor wood boiler system is a partnership between Messersmith Manufacturing who supplies the fuel handling system with integrated controls and Crown Royal who supplies the hydronic wood chip boiler. The package is an automated system with an enclosed fuel storage bin incorporating Messersmith’s travel auger system along with a series of conveyors to transport the fuel into the wood boiler system where it is burned. The system is capable of burning wood chips, sawdust, wood pellets or pelletized coal.
The wood chip boiler system has shaker grates and an ash pan designed for quick and easy cleaning. The combustion system uses both under fire and overfire combustion air for clean combustion.
The wood chip boiler system has triple pass heat exchangers and stainless steel heat transfer tubes that produce the highest possible efficiencies. For the best corrosion resistance and heat transfer possible, the firebox and outer drum is constructed out of 409 Titanium Enhanced Stainless Steel. The Biomass Series is available in one model with a heating capacity of 950,000 BTU’S, with a 4:1 turn-down ratio. The unit’s pilot mode keeps the system running with very little heat load.
